What Is "Inauthentic Content"?

"Inauthentic content" is YouTube's monetization-policy category for mass-produced and repetitive videos, renamed from "repetitious content" on July 15, 2025. It targets channels whose videos are templated with minimal variation, generated without meaningful human creative input, or assembled from reused material without original commentary. It is not an AI ban: AI-assisted content remains monetizable when humans add original structure, editing, and judgment. Violations result in YPP rejection or removal from the program.
